Anyone who has access to the internet has got one, you know what I'm talking about, an online addiction. The past year or so all you'd hear people talking about is myspace.com. Well move over myspace, there's a new player in town and its called flickr.com.

I was first introduced to flickr.com by my Photojournalism professor back in January. Students use flickr to upload digital pictures and share them with the class. That was the beginning of my obsession.

Flickr.com is an affiliate of yahoo.com; if you have a yahoo id you can access the flickr site. The site is free to use to upload photo's you want to share with the public or your friends and family. You can also email from the site and share comments on each others photos.

With the free account you can upload a certain amount of pictures per month. But if you pay for a subscription, which is only $25.95 for the year, you can upload an unlimited amount of pictures and get a few other perks as well.

Because I am addicted to picture taking (thanks Vic!), I am constantly uploading new photo's onto the site. There are some awesome groups to join and add your photo's to so that people can give constructive criticism and help to improve your camera skills. At the moment I belong to about 55 of these groups!

I really love this site not only for the help it is giving me in my photography learning experience but also for the fact that I can share my photo's with my family and friends and still keep in touch with them all on the same site. I'm rarely on myspace anymore.

I'm sure somewhere down the road there will be another awesome new site that's discovered. But right now, I'm really enjoying the fun and learning on flickr.com

Conclusion

There are millions of sites on the internet. But there's always that one that you just can't help being addicted to. Whatever your interests are there's a site out there for you. You just have to find it. Once you do, your hooked!
